This EU funded cascade grant initiative, provided under the umbrella of the NGI programme, has already funded a total of 40+ SMEs, Researchers, and Non-profit organisations from EU and US that are contributing together to build a secure, fair, inclusive, and human-centric next-generation Internet. This contribution is deployed in practice via research experiments, carried out on innovative experimental platforms on both sides of the Atlantic.
Topics of the call
For this third call, proposals will address one or both the priority areas identified:
- the development and/or evolution of EU – US Experimental Platforms for NGI experiments,
- and/or experimentation of results with key NGI technologies addressing NGI priority topics where results are mature enough for transatlantic experiments, including:
- Privacy and Trust enhancing technologies;
- Decentralised data governance;
- Discovery and identification technologies;
- Strengthening internet trustworthiness with electronic identities;
- Greening the Internet: A Sustainable and Climate-friendly NGI.

The application deadline is 26 February 2021 at 17:00 CET.
The Call is open to any private and public organisation of any size (not individual researchers) located within the EU Member States or Associated Countries and twinned with a US counterpart to carry out the activities proposed. More detailed information on the NGIAtlantic.eu website.
