The Moselle Valley is renowned for its picturesque vineyards and high-quality white wines, particularly Riesling, Pinot blanc and Pinot gris, Auxerrois and the sparkling wine Crémant de Luxembourg, made using the traditional champagne method. Whether you prefer dry or sweet, still or sparkling, it is highly likely that you will find a Moselle wine from Luxembourg to suit your taste.

Throughout the year there are a variety of wine festivals and wine tastings to be enjoyed in the various pretty towns and villages along the Moselle.

Wine and Grape Festival (Fête du Raisin et du Vin)

This annual festival takes place in the town of Grevenmacher, which is one of the major wine-producing regions in Luxembourg. It typically happens in early September and features wine tastings, grape harvesting demonstrations, live music, parades and various food stalls.

Wine and Crémant Festival in Remich

The charming town of Remich hosts a wine and crémant festival along the banks of the Moselle River. Visitors can sample a wide variety of local wines and crémants, enjoy live entertainment, and take part in the festive atmosphere. This festival usually takes place in late September.

Winegrowers’ Open House Days

Many wineries along the Luxembourg Moselle open their doors to the public during specific weekends in the summer or early autumn. Visitors can tour the vineyards, cellars, and tasting rooms, and get to know the winemakers personally. These events often include wine tastings and opportunities to purchase wine directly from the producers.

Wine Tours

While not festivals in the traditional sense, guided wine tours are a great way to explore the vineyards and wineries of the Moselle region. These tours can be arranged year-round and offer a more intimate and educational experience.

Christmas Markets

While not specifically wine festivals, some Christmas markets in towns along the Luxembourg Moselle feature local wines and crémants among their offerings. This can be a wonderful way to enjoy the festive holiday atmosphere with a glass of the region’s finest.
