Fanuc Corporation develop and manufactures industrial robots, CNC systems, wire cut EDM, injection moulding machines, vertical machining centres, etc., in its fully automated factories in Japan. Luxembourg hosts the group’s European headquarters since 1993. Its repair centre in Luxembourg services the European market through 24 subsidiaries located in Europe, Russia and Israel.
Luxembourg logistics centre
In 2015, Fanuc relocated its distribution centre from the Netherlands to Luxembourg in order to optimise its supply chain in Europe. The centre customises robots and “robomachines”, delivered from factories in Japan with a standard configuration, according to customer needs in order to reduce delivery times.
Driven by the automation of the industry in Europe, Fanuc’s sales have steadily increased in recent years. To cope with this strong increase, the company decided to acquire the building it has rented until now in the Eurohub Centre logisics zone in order to transform it into a center of excellence in the customisation of robots and “robomachines”. As part of this acquisition, the company also took over the surface rights contract for the land hosting the premises which had been granted by the Ministry of the Economy to the former owner of the building.

The Eurohub Centre is located near the freight centre of Luxembourg airport, a location particularly suited to logistics activities related to air transport. Thanks to its geographical location in the heart of Europe, Luxembourg has one of the main air cargo airports in Europe. Directly connected to the major motorway networks, it connects the main European destinations and provides access to the main consumer markets of the European Union, in less than 24 hours.

E-commerce platform innovation project
In 2021, Fanuc also started a process innovation project, co-financed by the Ministry of the Economy and supported by national innovation agency Luxinnovation, consisting in designing and implementing a centralised e-commerce platform at European level, to ordering spare parts, small supplies and training.
