Government support
The digital “Factory of the Future” system has been developed via a research and development project of approximately €11 million. The Luxembourg Ministry of the Economy supported the project with a subsidy of around €3.4 million. “This project is a concrete illustration of our digital innovation strategy in the priority field of Industry 4.0,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy Étienne Schneider at the press conference presenting the project on 6 February 2019. “As a pilot project, ‘Factory of the Future’ is fully integrated into our policy for sustainable economic development targeting the application of digital technologies in high tech industry.”
“Husky is aware of the tremendous impact of digitalisation in all areas, and we have worked with our partners to develop our digital production capability,” said John Galt, President and CEO of Husky Injection Molding. “Our new generation operational model is revolutionising the way we work. It offers new opportunities to serve our customers faster and more flexibly, while reducing overall costs. I would like to congratulate the Luxembourg government for its forward-looking approach: Luxembourg has recognised the need to completely transform industry and supports companies in this major transition. This confirms our conviction that Luxembourg is an ideal location for companies.”
