Regardless of whether you are a Luxembourg resident or an occasional visitor, you can now travel all over the country without paying anything. This decision is part of an ambitious programme aimed at making public transport easily accessible for everyone. The ambition is also to have a positive impact on the environment, as new users will hopefully choose to benefit from the free public transports and leave their cars at home.

Free public transport celebrated with free concerts

This innovative measure obviously called for some celebration. Festive events were organised all over Luxembourg, with 12 mini-concerts in the afternoon of 29 February on stages in several railway stations and groups of musicians playing in trains, trams and buses. In the evening, all musicians got together for a major concert in Luxembourg City. The audience could already travel to the concert – which obviously had free admission – completely free of charge.
