Luxembourg has maintained the highest score from Fitch ratings agency awarded to only 11 countries in the latest round of scores.
The ‘Triple A’ rating that Luxembourg achieved, has been attributed to the lowest number of countries since 2003, corresponding to only 10% of the portfolio evaluated by the agency.
Between 2003 and 2009, only 16 states qualified for the highest score reflecting the impact of the financial crisis.
In addition to Luxembourg among the countries achieving Triple A ranking are, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia and the United States.
Fitch has stated that it does not expect a revision of the ratings over the next two years.
Luxembourg continues to receive a top scores from the three main credit rating agencies: Fitch, Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s.
