The University of Luxembourg is ranked among the 25o best universities in the world by the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020. The study covers almost 1,400 universities worldwide. While its position remains unchanged compared to last year, the university has improved its underlying score.

Number 1 in “international outlook”

The university comes out as number 1 worldwide in the category “international outlook”, scoring a total of 99.7. “It is regarded as one of the most international universities in Europe,” comments Times Higher Education. Students come from about 120 countries from around the world. The publication points out that all undergraduate students are expected to spend a semester abroad. The university collaborates with nearly 90 universities across the globe.

The young university – founded as late as 2003 – also improves its rating in other evaluation criteria such as teaching and research. “Our consistent ranking among the world-leading universities is testimony to the quality of research and teaching at the University of Luxembourg,” says Stéphane Pallage, rector of the University of Luxembourg. “This result encourages us to further develop the core missions of the university.”
