Luka Mucic, Vodafone, and Luxembourg Minister of the Economy Lex Delles signing the agreement for Vodafone's pan-European logistics hub in LuxembourgOn 4 October 2024, Vodafone Chief Financial Officer, Luka Mucic, and Luxembourg Minister of the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism, Lex Delles, signed an agreement for the creation of the new logistics facility in Luxembourg.

Luxembourg is renowned a competitive logistics hub for value-added logistics activities, benefitting notably from its strategic European location and excellent infrastructure. Vodafone estimates that 88% of its in-market warehouses in Europe can be reached from Luxembourg within 24 hours, and will use the hub to ensure that equipment like antennas, and routers can be moved more efficiently to where they are needed.

World-class logistics centre

“The creation of a new pan-European logistics hub in Luxembourg is in line with our strategy to simplify the way we run Vodafone and our commitment to being as cost-efficient as possible in our operations and supply chain,” comments Mr Mucic. “This investment will also reinforce Luxembourg’s position as a world-class logistics centre.”

Located in the logistics park in Bettembourg in southern Luxembourg, the new 26,000 sqm warehouse will be managed by the Vodafone Procurement company. Building works are expected to start in early 2025 and result in an operational logistics hub in 2026.
